The Lost City

Maybe I should have lowered my expectations for The Lost City. It appeared as a blatant rip-off of Romancing the Stone, but I was okay with that because I liked the idea of Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum in the same film together. When the film began, I immediately felt like I was in trouble. Individually they stand out but I could never see them together. They do their best to frolic around the jungle which is more often than not, a green screen. There are moments that are really funny but the plot is just too dumb to ignore. You can tell that this film was rushed and they knew the stars would be enough to carry it through. The Brad Pitt cameo was stellar and it's entertaining to see Daniel Radcliffe play against type, but it's really hard for me to recommend this one. The films that this one tries to mimic are just better.
