The Bad Guys

I didn't get anything out of The Bad Guys. I didn't think it was funny. I didn't think it was exciting. I didn't think it was awful. It was just fine. Imagine a flatline, that was my experience with this movie. It seems to be getting higher praise than my reaction to it, so I might have been missing something, but for a heist film, it lacked surprise and intrigue. I enjoyed the voice actors. Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron and Awkwafina add heft and dimension to their characters, but the whole time I was bothered by the fact that in this world some animals could talk and essentially interact with humans on a daily basis. While there are other animals that act just like they do in the real world in their primate state. When these are the thoughts that are going on through your head as the movie plays, you know that it is failing to attach to your imagination.
