Isn’t It Romantic
★★★ 1/2
Isn't It Romantic delivers exactly what you’d expect—a fun, light-hearted romp that cleverly pokes fun at rom-com clichés while letting Rebel Wilson shine. Watching it the second time around with my teenage daughter, I found myself appreciating its self-aware humor even more. Wilson’s knack for physical comedy and her undeniable charm carry the film, despite the script’s occasional reliance on tired gags. Her chemistry with Adam DeVine adds to the fun, and Liam Hemsworth gives a surprisingly solid performance.
Though it may not revolutionize the genre, it doesn’t need to—it’s a breezy, feel-good watch that’s perfect for when you just need to laugh and unwind. If you love rom-coms, there’s plenty to enjoy, and if not, well, Rebel Wilson’s full-throttle commitment might just win you over. It’s a movie that knows exactly what it is and embraces that, flaws and all.
